Why is good nutrition important for my dog?

Dogs must have a complete and balanced diet. Dogs need fresh water, protein, carbohydrates, fats, minerals and vitamins.

Water is of course the most important nutrient. Proteins, fats and carbohydrates are essential for energy, while minerals are important for nerve conduction, muscle contraction, and other important functions. Vitamins help your dog process biochemicals.

It is very important that your dog gets balanced quality nutrients through his diet. Excess of some nutrients might cause disturbances or even sickness to your dog. Some nutrients have to be maintained in ratios with others in order to be absorbed efficiently.
